Timing

You can see Torcello’s cathedral and the church of Santa Fosca easily in a half hour, but to avoid the hordes of tourists, come early in the day during the week or on a bright, mild day in winter. You will want to spend an hour or so appreciating the serene tranquility of the all-but-abandoned island and admiring the sights.
